hi, i'm jaclyn

As a young girl, I always dreamed of Italy. Perhaps it was due to my Italian-American heritage, enrolling in Italian class in the 6th grade or my slight obsession with the Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen movie, "When In Rome?" I can't be sure if it was one or a mix of all of those things, but all I knew was that I wanted to visit Italy.  In 2017, my dream finally came true when I visited Rome, Florence and Venice. It was after that trip, and subsequent ones in 2018 and 2019, that I quickly realized my deep infatuation with Italy. It wasn't only the food, but also the ambience, the energy and the way-of-life that intrigued me. 

 

In 2022, I made the decision to leave my nearly two-decade-long career. I felt uninspired, burnt out and yearned for a new adventure. With a strong desire to travel the world, live in a foreign country and experience life to the fullest, I decided to "move' to Italy. I say 'move' lightly because it wasn't a permanent relocation, but it was undoubtedly a significant step. 

I started Jet Like Jaclyn in order to share my journey, traveling solo through Italy and beyond with the goal of inspiring others to say YES and pursue the things that you always dreamt of.  So many people wait for the right person, or a specific moment in life to experience it and I am here to tell you not to wait. Hop on the plane, explore a new city, eat the gelato. You won't regret it! 

 

I like to think of myself as a savvy traveler, willing to enjoy the moment but not overindulging. My hope is that this blog can help make your next travel experience the best one yet.
